Membership
Welcome!
Susquehanna Valley Ethical Society [SVES] welcomes people of all races, religious backgrounds, cultural origins, and sexual orientation.
Visitors are welcome to attend all presentations, events and social activities. If the philosophy of Ethical Humanism and Ethical Culture is consistent with your values and how you live your life we invite you to explore membership.
Who may join?
Membership is open to anyone who is at least 16 years of age. We encourage anyone interested in membership to attend several Sunday meetings. Doing so provides the best opportunity for learning about the Susquehanna Valley Ethical Society programs, activities and members. Membership applications can be downloaded from our website. Membership applications will be presented to the Membership Committee and the Board for action. Members are asked to make and fulfill a financial pledge each year. Member pledges sustain the people, the facility we rent, and the programs of the society.
Why join the "Valley"?
It is inspiring to experience a culture that challenges us personally, celebrates life's joys, is supportive to other members during all the stages of life, and cultivates ethical growth and action in its members and in the community around us.
What does it mean to be a member?
We want your membership at SVES to be meaningful to you, which requires a certain level of commitment. As a member you are urged to attend Sunday get-togethers regularly and join in the work and play of the ethical community.
We ask all members to:
We have many ways to be actively involved in SVES. We also welcome your ideas and leadership for new programming and activities.
We look forward to having you as part of our community!
